Gallura extends to the north east of Sardinia, representing the most internationally appreciated tourist destination, due to its natural beauty and the services that the territory of Gallura offers, with its famous Costa Smeralda (Emerald Coast). A corner of paradise by the Tyrrhenian Sea and an interesting interior, characterised by granite mountains and villages enriched with traditions. The Costa Smeralda is well known for the presence of several VIP’s, who each summer visit Porto Cervo and Porto Rotondo. Its popularity is not new, in fact, Homer in his Odyssey cites Ulysses as landing on the coast to find food. Geographically, Gallura faces Punta Fallone on the Bocche di Bonifacio, looking towards Corsica. The capital of Gallura is Olbia, at the centre of the Gulf of Olbia, which boasts an important airport. Olbia is the best landing place from which to start visiting the Gallurian interior territories, which are characterised by the granite Limbara Mountain (1,362 m.).
