At only 5 km from Tortolì, Lotzorai is a pretty medioeval town which has recently known a remarkable tourist development. In the southern side of the town, the 13th century Castello della Medusa stando on the top of a hill, probably built by the will of Cagliari’s Judges. Not far from the coast , Isola di Ogliastra, a pictoresque red porphyry rock, gives its ancient name to the Ogliastra region.
