Situated on the charming coast north of Olbia, and facing Golfo di Gugnana stretching itself on the Penisula di Rudalza with Punta Volpe, Porto Rotondo is the Italian pride for high-class tourism of international level. This jewel was created starting from 1963 by the two Venetian brothers Donà delle Situated Rose who wanted to recreate in Sardinia the fascinating atmosphere typical of a privileged Venetian style. The heart of Porto Rotondo is the exclusive and pretty Piazzetta S. Marco, designed by ANDREA CASCELLA. From it a flight of stairs leads up to the S.Lorenzo church with a granite façade and a keel shaped roof. Inside you can admire some wooden sculptures by MARIO CERIOLI, an artist who designed also the nearby Open-Air Theatre carved into the granite (1995). Facing the fisherman’s Dock is Piazzetta Della Casbah designed by Sangregorio, meeting point of Porto Rotondo. Its arcades house charming little shops. In this harmonious context you find the Marina with on harbour among the most equipped in the Mediterranean Sea, recently enlarged, along with the clubhouse, hosting the nautical elite.
