ARBATAX

Almost united to Tortolì the little Arbatax town is set at the base of the impressive Capo Bellavista, a granite promontory dominated by a beautiful lighthouse and by the pictoresque Arbatrax Tower(16th cent.), which overlooks the harbour, the most important of the Sardinian eastern coast after Olbia’s, where the boats to Cagliari, Genoa, and Olbia make a stopover. This ancient sailormen village is very famous for its suggestive Rocce rosse, the splendid red porphyry reefs rising from the sea, which can be admired from the port, On the northern eastern side of Capo Bellavista promontori, lies a beautiful lookout terrace that faces the enchanting CalaMoresca beach near the homonymous tourist resort. Among the seaside resorts in the south of Arbatrax are S.Gemiliano beach, overlooked by a Spanish tower, the characteristic Porto Frailis beach, with its white sand and crystal-clear sea and Orri beach, connected to other little beaches of Punta Musculedda.
A short drive on the Orientale Sarda 125 road will take you to the beautiful Cea Is Scoglius Arrubius beach, so called for its two red porphyry needles rising from the sea , and the little Baia di Cea near Barisardo.
